Alexis Jenkins joined Schmidt Public Affairs in January 2021 as digital coordinator, excelling at content creation and social media. She joined the team full-time after serving as a digital consultant starting in the in Fall of 2019.
Prior to joining Schmidt Public Affairs, Alexis worked as an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) fellow assigned to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). At the EPA, Alexis led internal communications campaigns, supported Office of Water project managers, and developed communications strategies to modernize office workflow.
Alexis received a BA in Multi-platform Journalism from UMD, College Park in May of 2015. While in school she worked as a staff photographer for UMD’s daily paper The Diamondback, sat on the Philip Merrill College of Journalism Dean’s advisory board, and served as president of the Maryland Association of Black Journalists. Outside of the EPA fellowship, Alexis has previous media and marketing experience with C-SPAN, Cumulus Media NYC, Sugar Shack, and the Baltimore Sun.
As work continues remotely Alexis enjoys watering her house plants, listening to podcasts, and the occasional weekend road trip.
